Senior Interaction Designer - Moscow

This position is located in Moscow, Russia.
Google is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to join its User
Experience and Design team. You will help define the user
experience for one or more of our websites and services, at the
strategic and tactical level.
You will help define product strategy and direction, identify
requirements, create the user interaction model, workflow, and
interface based on a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors,
and attitudes. Interaction Designers collaborate closely with
product management, engineering, and other User Experience
functions, including user research and visual design.
The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive
experience leading a user centered process for a major web product
or service, have worked on complex, ambiguous projects, and had a
strategic influence on products.
Requirements:
• Masters Degree in Human-Computer Interaction or
related field preferred (BS or MS in Computer Science or related
field a big plus).
• Minimum of 5-7 years experience designing
outstanding web-based products for a consumer-oriented website as a
key member of a UI team.
• Minimum 3+ years experience leading large
design efforts and coordinating project teams of 3 or more
members.
• Mastery of user-centered design processes and
have solid interaction design skills. Able to assess design quality
and provide design direction to a team.
• Familiarity with field and lab-based user
research methods.
• Familiarity with web technologies.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in a
cross-functional product development team and present ideas and
designs effectively. Proven ability to communicate conceptual
ideas, design rationale, and user-centered design process. Must be
able to build consensus and rally teams around a guiding
vision.
• Must be able to prioritize and manage work and
meet critical project milestones and deadlines.
• Must be an effective problem solver with strong
analytical skills. Comes up with creative solutions and considers
many alternatives to each problem.
• Internationalization: knowledge about how to
build a product that can be localized.
• Fluency in English and Russian required; other
languages a plus.
Preferred qualifications:
• Expert HTML knowledge.
• Able to prototype in Flash or other dynamic
prototyping tools.
• Photoshop or Fireworks proficiency.
• CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and other Web 2.0
technologies knowledge.
• Knowledge of cross-browser issues and
strategies for designing compatible UI
